The very best of luck to staff and parents on next Saturday night. We sincerely thank everyone for their support and help over the past few months.

Amber Flag

Cloghroe NS celebrated  obtaining their first Amber Flag, promoting Positive Mental Health. Ministers Jan O’Sullivan and Kathleen Lynch jointly launched Well-Being in Primary Schools Guidelines for Mental Health Promotion, in a joint collaboration between the Department of Education and Science and the Health Executive. Obtaining the flag involved the whole school community coming together in order to create a safe, positive and healthy attitude towards our general physical and mental health and well-being. Thank you  to our Amber Flag school committee for guiding us in the various activities.

Everyone from Junior Infants to 2nd Class enjoyed a wonderful performance of Aladdin by The West Midland Theatre Group.

The Lord Mayor's Visit

Cloghroe First on Mayoral Tour!
Cloghroe N.S. was the first school in the newly enlarged city of Cork officially visited by the Lord Mayor Councillor John Sheehan and his wife Aedamar on Tuesday 24th September 2019.
They were welcomed by Principal Emma Dineen who referred to the great sense of community in the school. The pupils sang “Be our Guest” from their recently performed musical and relayed some of the history of the school, while others welcomed the guests in six different native languages showing the multi - cultural nature of the changing Cloghroe landscape.
The Lord Mayor spoke of the joy he feels visiting schools, the warm reception and the proud tradition associated with our schools. He presented a picture of Terence McSwiney and Tomás McCurtain to the school. These Lord Mayors began the school visiting tradition.
In return Ms. Dineen presented a framed copy of the school song and one of the pupils presented the Lady Mayoress with a beautiful plant. The pupils then sang the school song accompanied by one of the teachers as the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress departed for Blarney.
