At 12 o'clock in Cork and Manchester and at 1 o'clock in Antwerp pupils in all three schools joined hands and sang our friendship song "Count on Me" by Bruno Mars at the exact same time. This event symbolised the strong bonds and friendships that have been created as a result of Comenius. Pupils really enjoyed this special moment.

Our Nature Walk in Autumn

We went for a lovely nature walk through the school grounds on a sunny autumn morning. We saw leaves changing colour and falling down, lots of berries and nuts, spider webs and a very pretty ladybird.

Baking in Junior Infants

Junior infants: Master chefs
As part of our “Irish Culinary Customs” book for our Comenius project in the school, Junior Infants made delicious Rice Crispie Buns in the staff room. They were very excited about the experience and Fergie, the Manchester mascot, even got a go mixing the ingredients.

Teddy Bears' Picnic

We had our Teddy Bears' Picnic in school on Friday. We taught our teddies a song and a poem and had lots of fun with them in school. We all had a picnic in the yard together and sang our song with our teddies. It was lots of fun. Our teddies were tired going home from school....

Aistear begins

Junior Infants started Aistear in school this week. Aistear is a structured play programme which allows children to play in smaller groups. Children change stations daily, onto their next adventure.
This month's theme is 'The Home'. Children are pretending to be moms, grandads, babies etc in the role play corner and are doing a fantastic job of walking their babies in the buggies while managing high heels!
