A Visit from Olive Mooney
We welcomed author Olive Mooney to visit us in third class. She read some chapters from 'The Book of Ornis' which is book one in her series of books 'The Chronicles of Cadaver College'. Olive gave us an insight into what life is like as an author, shared some of her knowledge about creative writing and answered all of our questions. We look forward to reading her books during the next few months.
Third class were excited to celebrate Grandparents' Day in Cloghroe National School. On this special day, we acknowledged and celebrated the importance of our grandparents and remembered those who could not be with us also. Pupils shared some time in prayer with their grandparents at mass followed by tea and chats in the school halla. Grandparents' Day was a very enjoyable and memorable day for the children and their grandparents.
The Christmas Spirit!
We are so proud of our 3rd Class pupils who are really embracing the Christmas Spirit this week. Firstly 3rd class helped the Junior Infants enjoy a morning of Festive fun. Then we raised almost €500 for the Mercy Hospital when caroling singing in Tower. Finally, pupils shared their talents with the parish and performed hymns at a Christmas mass in Cloghroe church.
