Spring has Sprung!
Rang a trí planted onions with Mr.Keady in our school vegetable patch. We look forward to harvesting them before the end of the school year.
Egg Drop Challenge
We completed the Egg Drop Challenge as part of Engineering Week. We designed and built structures to protect an egg which we then dropped from a height. Thankfully, most eggs did not crack.... We have many future engineers in our midst!
D'itheamar pancóga le seacláid agus siucra! Happy Pancake Tuesday everyone!
Indoor Hurling Blitz
Third Class went to Nemo Rangers for an indoor Hurling Blitz. Well done to all the boys!
Third class pupils exceeded all expectations with the quality of their January Genius Hour projects. During genius hour students of all levels are empowered to explore their own passions. The children firstly create a project proposal and explore different research methodologies. The pupils then research their topics both in school and home and create their finished project/product. Pupils engage with their projects for one hour per week for three to four weeks. As pupils chose their subject matter and presentation method themselves, there was a diverse range of topics covered in January. These topics included recycling, baking, dinosaurs and rugby teams to mention but a few! It was a wonderful opportunity to share knowledge with their peers. We are already looking forward to seeing your February projects!
Third class pupils had a wonderful day celebrating Grandparents Day, in conjunction with Catholic Schools Week. Grandparents attended mass with their grandchildren in St.Senan’s Church and then returned to the school hall for some tea and cakes. Pupils had the opportunity to ask their Grandparents questions and listen to stories about their childhood and school days. It was a fantastic day for pupils, grandparents and the wider parish community.
Well done to Third Class pupils in Cloghroe N.S. who sang beautiful Christmas Carols outside O’Leary’s SuperValu, Tower, in December. The children raised €300 for The Irish Cancer Society. Pupils were delighted to present the cheque to former school principal, Mr. Pádraig O’Conaill on behalf of the Irish Cancer Society. Both staff and parents are very proud of the pupil’s generosity and good will. Maith sibh rang a trí

Christmas Carol Singing and Church Visit
This year we sang Christmas carols at morning mass in Cloghroe Church. It was a great opportunity to visit the Crib, see the Advent Wreath and remember the true meaning of Christmas. We then performed our Christmas Carols outside O'Leary's SuperValu, Tower. We raised almost €300 for the Irish Cancer Society. Thank you to all parents for their generous donations. Thank you also to Paddy O'Leary and Lisa O'Leary for our selection boxes....what a lovely treat!!
Busy Bees in Rang a Trí!

We learned how to multiple and divide numbers for the first time in maths and our teachers are very impressed with our new skills. We had great fun turning milk into plastic....That was a Science experiment to remember!! We are also busy learning our Christmas Carols for our charity fundraiser in December and creating some beautiful festive art.
Science Week - Designer Minds!

We had great fun preparing for Halloween in rang a trí. We explored the traditional Bairín Breac and completed procedural writing recipes... Some lucky boys and girls even found the ring! We created Pumpkin Pinch Pots using clay and we looked really scary during our Spooky Stroll to School. Happy Halloween everyone!
Rang a trí has got talent!
Thanks to Tom for performing his new song and showing us his guitar skills!
Pupils enjoyed exploring the stone age in recent History lessons. We then use the Stone Age as inspiration for our Art activity. Pupils used cave art and carvings as inspiration. Pupil lay on the ground while creating their masterpieces! We had so much fun!
World Mental Health Day
Pupils in rang a trí discussed the importance of minding our Mental Health, while celebrating World Mental Health Day. We relaxed during a mindfulness session, created mindful art and had mindful Obair Bhaile.
Maths Week Fun!
We are having great fun exploring maths during maths week! We played maths games, created our own graphs and carried out a maths trail in our local environment.
Who knew Science experiments could be so tasty! We carried out a STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) activity based on construction. We used marshmallows as our building blocks and used melted chocolate as our glue. We designed and created the structures while working in groups. The final products ranged from hotels, swimming pools and soccer stadiums.
