Work Experience - Transition Year Students

Dear Parents/Guardians,
 
At a recent CPSMA meeting, Boards of Primary Schools were advised not to accept U16 year olds into primary schools during transition year as they cannot be vetted.
 
The transition year students between ages of 16 and 18 need to have obtained a vetting disclosure through their post-primary school, prior to entry, if seeking work experience.
 
While welcoming all students, the Board of Management of St. Senan's NS Cloghroe requests that students display an interest in primary teaching or Early Years’ Education if requesting placement on transition year.
 
Please note that past-pupils are to get first preference, if possible.
