Work Experience - Transition Year Students
Dear Parents/Guardians,
At a recent CPSMA meeting, Boards of Primary Schools were advised not to accept pupils under 16 years of age into primary schools during transition year as they cannot be vetted.
The transition year students between ages of 16 and 18 need to have obtained a vetting disclosure through their post-primary school, prior to entry, if seeking work experience. Please ask your secondary school to provide this.
If in some circumstances Secondary Schools are unwilling to provide vetting, please download and fill out both the NBV1 Form and NBV3 Form below, and drop into our school along with the supporting proof of ID amounting to 100 points (please see information sheet on NVB form). Processing of Vetting Form can typically take 8 weeks so please drop to the school 8 weeks prior to proposed start date.
While welcoming all students, the Board of Management of St. Senan's NS Cloghroe requests that students display an interest in primary teaching or Early Years’ Education if requesting placement on transition year.
Please note that past-pupils are to get first preference, if possible.
