Visit from the Champions

Cloghroe NS was delighted to receive a visit from many past-pupils on Inniscarra winning Hurling and Football teams, on Friday December 8th. Liam Buckley (Minor Winning Captain) spoke to all the school in Halla Uí Chonaill. He told the pupils that he valued his clubmates and spoke of the enjoyment that GAA brought to him. He encouraged all the pupils to play sport with their local clubs. Ms. Emma Dineen, principal, welcomed the teams and stated how proud the school was of their achievements, winning Under-21 Mid-Cork and County Hurling, Premier 2 Minor Hurling Championship and League, and Under-16 Hurling and Football competitions. The boys then mingled to allow the children see the cups up close and enjoyed a 'cuppa' as well, before captains Podge O'Donoghue (U-21), Liam Buckley (Minor), Fergal O'Leary (U-16) and Pádraig Holland (U-16) helped to riase the Active School Flag for Cloghroe NS. Other members of the team present were Seán O'Donoghue, Dave Óg Coleman, Con O'Leary, Sam Doyle, Ciarán Lombard, Eddie O'Connor, Craig Bennett, Bryan O'Mahony and Tomás O'Connor.
