5th Class Grandparents & Special Relatives Morning
Thank you so much to the huge number of 5th Class Grandparents & special relatives who visited our school. Following mass, grandparents returned to our school hall. There was such a wonderful atmosphere & delicious treats baked by our pupils. A very special occasion for all. We also took the time to remember our Grandparents in heaven.

The P.A. Committee are a fabulous voluntary group of parents. They support parents/guardians and the school. As well as keeping parents informed about important school updates, a big part of what they do is organising fundraising events (based on feedback from our School Management and Student Council “Wishlist”) with monies going towards enhancing the children’s school experience.
They organise extracurricular activities and fun events for the children and aim to organise more family social events to bring our school community together!

Lámh Day -
"You are my Sunshine"
Happy Lámh Day from our Curam class! The boys celebrated the power of communication, connection, and inclusion — one sign at a time . As a tribute to Lámh Day, the boys in Curam taught the song ‘You are my Sunshine’ using Lámh to 4th class pupils and they all performed it together for the Lord Mayor. He was so impressed he awarded the boys special Cork badges. Happy Lámh Day everyone #LámhDay #CuramClass #InclusionMatters #PrimarySchool”

Lord Mayor's Visit - October
|
|
We had the pleasure of welcoming the Lord Mayor of Cork Fergal Dennehy to our school. The Lord Mayor showed us his amazing chain made from gold and gave us an idea of what it’s like to be the Lord Mayor of Cork. The boys and girls asked him great questions and we learned that when he was a young boy his dad was the Lord Mayor of Cork too. The boys from Cúram and some of our 4th class boys and girls sang ‘You are my Sunshine’ using Lámh signs and the whole school sang our special school song . As a treat for us, the Lord Mayor showed us his musical talents and sang a Johnny Cash song and played the guitar. It was a wonderful visit and was topped off with homework off for the boys and girls.

Annoucing our Inaugural Career's Day
First Holy Communion
On Saturday, 10th May, our wonderful children in 2nd Class made their First Holy Communion. Congratulations to them and their Teachers, SNAs, and Parents. A huge thank you also to our Parents’ Association for all their work in preparation for the morning and during the reception back at school afterwards. A fantastic occasion for all.
Christmas Time at St. Senan's
St. Senan's NS was brimming with Christmas Cheer this year as the boys and girls enjoyed a hectic month of Festive preparation. Classes could be heard practising tirelessly in the halla for their Nativity Plays, Christmas Shows and Dance Club video, and performed some wonderfully heart warming renditions for their families and the rest of the school in the last few days.
Christmas Jumper Day was held to raise funds for charities and a van full of Christmas shoe boxes for Team Hope was shipped off to boys and girls afar. Some classes were driven by our local Garda to Starbucks for Christmas Hot drinks while others were served up Hot Chocolate at the School by the wonderful Parents Association! Cookies and gingerbread men were baked for Santa (with some secretly set aside for Rudolph!).
The beautiful outdoor Christmas Tree was adorned with lights while the school crib shone brightly - both a welcoming sight to pupils and passerbyers. Letters were written not only to Santa but to local residents in Nursing homes sending them love and stories this Christmas.
But of course the icing on the cake was the arrival of Santa Claus himself - who took time out of his busy days in the North Pole to visit the boys and girls. He told them all about his favourite foods and he was in for a treat himself when the boys from Curam performed Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer using Lamh.
Our Instagram page has some video snippets of the many superstar performances for you to enjoy!

Rapturous Welcome for Inniscarra Footballers!
We were honoured to have a delegation from the recently crowned Inniscarra Junior A Football County Champions visit our pupils and teachers at St. Senan's NS to showcase the mid-Cork and County winning cups! Sport has always played a huge part in our community and this visit will remain a memorable and inspiring one for our younger players. Former pupil and current player Liam O'Connor addressed the young audience imparting some fine words of wisdom and encouragement. We wish to thank and congratulate all the Inniscarra team of players and mentors on their success - Scarra Abú!
