Rounders
Rounders is a most enjoyable non-contact sport. Cloghroe's first Rounders Team was formed in 1993, to participate in Cork Community Games competition. Cloghroe represented Cork Rounders ,at Munster Level on many occasions.
In 1996, Cloghroe along with several other Cork Schools, including Urslines, Blackrock, Ringaskiddy, Carrigtwohill, Ballinora set up The Cork Primary Schools Rounders League. Cloghroe has par taken in this competition every year since, and has won the League Trophy twice.
Every year, an end of season Rounders Fun Day is held where teams are formed, with children from different schools on each team. This has allowed children to play together, get to know one another, and ensured fun and participation are what matters , when playing games.
Within the school, many classes play this most enjoyable game. Inter school competitions, each team comprising of 4th, 5th, and 6th class pupils are run occasionally.
