Farewell from Ms.McSwiney.
Dear parents, guardians and pupils,
It is time for me to say goodbye to you all as my teaching career comes to an end. I’ve had 42 very happy years in Cloghroe N.S. My connection with the school began the day after my 4th birthday when I started school. This continued until I left aged 12.
I returned as a teacher in 1974 and have taught all classes throughout my career. Many Communion classes and Confirmation classes later, I was given the opportunity to act as Principal. These last 19 months as leader were truly the icing on the cake, with the cherry on top.
Working with the vibrant, creative, innovative, cheerful and charismatic staff of teachers and supporting staff was an absolute joy. In truth, they were the dream team. Their support and goodwill was truly impressive. They were my rock in times of grief and joy.
Have no doubt that the future of Cloghroe School is in capable hands!
To all parents with young children I say enjoy every moment with your child as he/she journeys along the educational road. Support, encourage and urge them always to do their best and be strong.
To the Cloghroe Parents Association and all parents, I thank you for your support, understanding and willingness even in times of distress to talk and try to find a solution or compromise.
Beannacht Dé oraibh go léir,
M.McSwiney.
