Opening of Memory Garden in Cloghroe School
Cloghroe school remembered in a special way, its pupils and staff who have passed away, by unveiling a plaque and establishing a garden in their honour and in their memory.Fr Coakley Chairperson of the Board of Management of Cloghroe School blessed the garden and Emma Dineen principal unveiled the plaque . Present also were family representatives of children who passed away while attending Cloghroe(Maureen and Francis Dineen and the Grandon family) and past pupils’ representatives ,such as former principal Padraig O Conaill and his wife Nuala. Cloghroe staff remembered especially colleague Grace Daly whose first anniversary falls on this day.Present were her husband Dermot and daughter Síofra. Former teacher Mairead Ní Mhuirthile was also included. As well as children from each class and school staff, many retired teachers also attended. It is hoped the garden will be a peaceful space to help all in time of need.
