Potatoes for Dinner!!!
Mr Keady came in to school and helped us to dig up our potatoes. We took them home for dinner. We also saw rhubarb, gooseberries, strawberries, redcurrants, lemon balm,cat mint, fennel, beans and cabbage in the garden. Some classes made scarecrows to frighten away the birds, but they didn't scare us!!!!

Sports Day
Sports Day was so much fun. We had sack races, potato and spoon races, soccer, hula hoops, beanbags and hurdles. 5th class helped us.
Blast Off!!!
We made rockets with 5th class.
Fourth Class
Fourth class came to visit us and performed Na Trí Mhuicín for us. We huffed and puffed to blow the house down.....
Ice-Cream in School!!!
Thank you very much to our Parents' association for organising for an ice-cream van to come to school today. It was delicious.
Reading with 5th Class
Fifth Class wrote books and read them to us. They were very interesting. Well done to all the boys and girls in Fifth Class.
Playground Games
We had lots of fun doing playground games at PE.
Going on a Bear Hunt........
We went on a Bear Hunt along our woodland walk. No bears but we found lots of bluebells. We read a story called Titus's Troublesome Tooth, Who's in the shed?
Our Vegetable Garden
We went to visit the vegetable garden to see how our potatoes are growing. We found lots of other vegetables and fruit including chives, beans, beetroot, gooseberries and strawberries.
Calves in School
Ruby's Dad brought twin calves into school. They were only 4 weeks old. We fed them some ration and they drank some milk.
A Trip to Rumley's Farm
We went on our school tour to Rumley's Farm. We saw lots of animals there including cows and calves, sheep and lambs, wolves, pigs, ducks and geese, a camel, racoons, water buffalo and some deer. We got to pet and feed a calf and some lambs.The playground was lots of fun, the zip line was so fast!!!!!! We got to play crazy golf, saw Rumley's Robot milking the cows, and went on a tractor drawn trailer ride.
Working on the Farm
Now it is time to learn all about life on the farm. Some of the work to be done includes milking the cows, collecting the eggs, feeding the animals and shearing the sheep. We have lots of fresh milk and delicious eggs for breakfast after a busy morning's work! It is fun driving our tractor around the farm.
A Pony in School
Doodles the pony came to school. He is a falabella pony and is really cute.He is eight years old. We learned all about taking care of animals, especially horses and ponies.
Races
We went to the astro turf where we had great fun taking part in races.The teachers said we were all very fast runners.
Maths Fun
We had lots of fun learning our shapes this week.
Irish Legends
We are learning some Irish legends, including The Salmon of Knowledge and The Children of Lir
A Bat
We found a bat in school.
A Visit to the Church
Having fun with 4th class
We went out in the yard with 4th class. They traced around us and then we labelled the different parts of our bodies. It was so much fun and we made lots of new friends. We told them all about Aistear.

Freddy the Skeleton comes to school!
Ellen's Dad came into school today to tell us all about his work as a doctor. Freddy the skeleton came to help him. It was very interesting. We got to use a real stethoscope just like a doctor. We showed him our ambulance.
At the Doctor's
If you need a doctor, you will be in good hands as the Junior Infants are learning all about how the doctor helps us. Our classrooms are like a doctor's surgery, busy helping patients who are sick. We are also constructing an ambulance, having lots of fun designing and making it.

Today was a very special day in school where we commemorated the 1916 Rising.
Easter Chicks !!
We had lots of fun making our Easter Chicks.
A Builder in School!!!
Tom's Dad came into school today and told us all about building houses. He brought lots of his tools with him, including a noisy drill and a heavy hammer. It was very interesting.
Spring Walk
We went on a Spring Walk around the school. We found lots of signs of Spring.
Dance
We do dance every Tuesday with Claudia. It is lots of fun.
Spring Bulbs!
Our Spring Bulbs in full bloom. Its been so exciting watching our bulbs grow each week. They were worth the wait!!

We planted potatoes in the school garden. Mr. Keady helped us.

We saw crows collecting sticks and building their nests high up in the trees. It must be Springtime.
World Book Day
5To celebrate World Book Day, Mrs. Murray's 5th class students visited Mrs. Curtin's Junior Infants and they all read storybooks together. It was very enjoyable. Some of the 5th class remember when they were in Senior Infants with Mrs. Curtin and 6th class students came and read to them.
Show and Tell in Junior Infants
We are making our own rooms in Aistear. It is lots of fun making them and telling our friends all about them.
A President in the School
Mrs. Dineen, president of the INTO came to visit us in school today. We had a special assembly in the Halla where we sang songs from Musicals for her, and gave her a lovely bunch of flowers. She came to visit us in our classroom. We saw her beautiful gold chain. She joined us in Aistear where we were busy building houses.

Our classrooms are like building sites as we learn all about building houses. We must wear our hard hats and high visibility jackets for safety.....

We were learning all about Static Electricity during Science week. It was lots of fun with the balloons.
The Restaurant
Junior Infants are very busy working in the restaurant in Aistear. Birthday parties, pizza making, and fruit salad are all on the menu. The children really enjoyed making and sharing fresh fruit salad.

Aistear
This week in Aistear we are enjoying our 'Halloween' theme. We are having great fun with some traditional Halloween games. Our haunted house is a spooky place with witches brewing scary potions!

Green Day in Junior Infants
A Walk in the Woods
We went on our nature trail through the woods. We found lots of different trees and had a great time in our new classroom!!!! We sang lots of songs there.

Maths Week
It is Maths Week. We went on a lovely Maths Trail around the school. We found lots of numbers, shapes and patterns. It was great fun.
Aistear
Junior Infants started Aistear in school. Aistear is a structured play programme which allows children to play in smaller groups. Children change stations daily, onto their next adventure.
This month's theme is 'The Home'. Children are pretending to be moms, grandads, babies etc in the role play corner and are doing a fantastic job of walking their babies in the buggies while managing high heels!

Autumn Time
We went for an autumn nature walk today. We found lots of different things, acorns, autumn leaves, berries, mushrooms,a spider's web..... and we even think we saw a squirrel. But we could not find a single ladybird....... Tom's cousin, Eoin told us about the trees.
Teddy Bears' Picnic
What fun we had today in school today!!! We went for a walk with our teddies, played some games , and had a lovely picnic outside in the sunshine.
Spanish Dancers

Soldiers in School
Lieutenant O' Leary and Corporal Duggan came to visit us today. They brought a new Irish flag to our school. This is Lieutenant O'Leary in our classroom. He showed us how soldiers say hello. Can you see us saluting?
