Jimmy Crowley visits Cloghroe N.S.

Cloghroe N.S. was delighted to welcome renowned Cork born song writer and folk singer Jimmy Crowley to our school. Jimmy engaged in musical workshops with 1st and 5th class. Jimmy performed a variety of songs on the day and explained his inspiration behind the songs. 1st class sang songs about the Antarctic and Tom Crean, while 5th class explored songs about the World Wars. Some of his repertoire consisted of “White star line” (Story of the Titanic) and Salonika (Story from the First World War).
