IT Equipment
Each classroom in Cloghroe School is equipped with an interactive whiteboard, thanks to a government grant and a persistent principal! Technology has moved education along a different path. Gone is the day of ‘chalk and talk’ and despite inadequate broadband , pupils are now receiving colourful visual stimuli and interactive ‘text’to enhance their learning. Through the use of educational websites teachers can broaden the pupils’ knowledge base and know-how. This is particularly evident in an area such as science, when the HOW something happens and the WHY it happens are explored.
Management and I.T.
In 2013, a new management/ office system was introduced . This enables better data retention and processing. Our school data base has been upgraded as has a parent texting system. Teachers can now upload their testing results to the system and facilitate better evaluation of data. Likewise information can be forwarded to the Department of Education and Science , when required at the press of a button. In 2014 school reports will be completed online.
