Green Day!
Cloghroe N.S. celebrated a “Green Day” on Friday March 14th. The morning began with over 500 pupils walking to school. Red F.M., the Irish Examiner, Green Schools Ireland and even the Gardaí visited the school. To conclude the Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations pupils enjoyed a ceilí mór in the school yard and a cultural assembly in the hall with Irish songs and music.
Each Wednesday for the remainder of the school year, children are encouraged to participate in a W.o.W day (Walk on Wednesday), which is part of our Green Schools project. At the end of each month, the class with the most walkers will receive the "Golden Boot" award. Always remember the importance of road safety and wearing a hi-vis vest. Happy walking!
