Dance
Dance forms part of the P.E. programme for the school year. To supplement the teaching of dance/movement the school sometimes engages the expertise of teachers proficient in a particular dance form such as folk-dancing and modern dance. Throughout Seachatin na Gaeilge week, we put particular emphasis on Irish Dancing. Outside professional dance teaching is used only when it is of benefit to the children, with parental support and when funds allow the use of same. In our biennial musicals, class groups are taught different dance routines and get a chance to perform to a wider audience. All children seem to have a very positive attitude to dance as a result of the exposure to a variety of dance forms.
