Mr. Whitty's 5th class have created these magnificent pieces of art by using paper quilling techniques. The details in each piece of art is incredible. Well done rang a cúig!
Musical Backdrops
6th class showcased their amazing and colourful backdrops which they created for the upcoming musical. The three musicals shown are Mary Poppins, Aladdin and the Lion King. Maybe you can guess which backdrop belongs to which musical?
Behind the Mask & Van Gogh Sunflowers
Yet another beautiful display is being showcased by 3rd class this week in the Creative Gallery. Miss L O'Connor's class are proud to present their amazing artwork, following an online workshop with the artist Lynda Loughnane and the Crawford Art Gallery. The workshop was entitled 'Behind the mask' and is very apt for Covid times.
Mrs. N O' Connor's 3rd class are also showcasing their beautiful sunflowers which have been inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's famous painting. They also added in some wonderful acrostic poems which are a delight to read.

Freedom of the City
This week’s display is by Mrs. Murray's 5th class and is associated with a project by the Glucksman Gallery, UCC, in partnership with Cork County Council. The title of the project is "Freedom of the City", and it invites young people to shape the future of Cork. Their amazing constructions reveal what the city would look like if they were to be the Lord Mayor of Cork.
Recreation of Famous Masterpieces
Rang a dó have the pleasure of showcasing their highly creative and imaginative work in our schools Creative Space at the moment. Ms. Daly and Ms. Leonard’s classes recreated many well-known masterpieces by various artists, through the use of many mediums – photography, fabric, construction, dress up, play dough and the use of everyday objects. Check out our pictures and prepare to be amazed at the results which are almost indistinguishable from the real deal!
Whole School Mural
This collaborative whole school mural was inspired by the artistic work of a street artist named Ryan Wilson aka ThankYouX. Junior infants to 6th class enjoyed learning about ThankYouX and how he paints his murals. Every child in the school designed and created their own personal cube for our very own mural. What a talented bunch!
Creative Schools
