Astro Turf Pitch

Few primary schools are lucky enough to have an astro-turf pitch of their own, yet Cloghroe can be proud that it has one, be that it may be on a smaller scale. Many years of fund-raising, including golf-classics, sponsored walks etc., have contributed to the eventual arrival of our hall and astro-turf in 2008. The surface is composed of top of the range materials and the fencing is of a very good standard. Consequently it has proven to be of great use to the local community as well as the school. It is used at lunchtimes on a rota basis for different sports and it has allowed our GAA coach Don Hennessey to facilitate skill development and training for pupils even in rainy weather. In general staff utilise the pitch to play a variety of games, throughout the year.
