Go Green!
Cloghroe was a sea of green on Friday March 14th. Over 500 boys and girls walked to school dressed in green, to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and also to work towards the schools 4th green flag. It was a real team effort with mums, dads, grannies, granddads and even pet dogs joining in on the fun! Pupils are looking forward to their next “walk to school” day already.

Skipathon
Pupils in Cloghroe N.S. thoroughly enjoyed their most recent fundraising activity. Pupils participated in a “skipathon” to raise funds for Downs Syndrome Ireland. Children from Junior Infants up to 6th class dusted off their skipping ropes and raised over €300 in the process. Well done to everyone involved.

Green fingers
A big thank you to Mr. Gerry Keady for continuing to help pupils to care for our school garden. Mr.Keady returned to Cloghroe N.S. with his wheelbarrow and shovel in tow. Pupils planted a variety of vegetables such as potatoes, leeks and garlic. We look forward to harvesting and of course eating these crops in the summer!

Come Holy Spirit
Congratulations to the 6th class pupils who recently received the sacrament of confirmation. Pupils celebrated this milestone on the 1st of April in St.Senan’s church, Cloghroe. After eight years in Cloghroe N.S., it was a very proud day for the Priests of the parish, parents and teachers. The ceremony which was full of music and song will certainly be cherished as a very special memory. Maith sibh rang a sé!
