A Busy School
Our Table Tennis teams represented our school at the Munster Schools Table Tennis competition on Tuesday 1st March. Each team played 3 rounds of 6 games with each player getting 2 matches per round. In Division 2 Team D were gold medalists. The team consisted of Sam McKenzie, Ruairi Linehan, Conor Gould, Ronan O’ Keeffe and Cian McKenzie. In Division 2 Team B were silver medalists. The team consisted of Niall Buckley, Conor O’Sullivan, Seán Linehan and Ben O’ Connell. Well done to all who participated.
Scór na bPáistí took place last weekend in Coachford with a strong performance by all our participants. Congratulations to Pádraig Buckley for taking 1st place in the Solo Instrumental Competition.
Indoor hurlers in 3rd class were also busy participating in a primary schools league and enjoyed their experience.
6th Class girls will compete in an FAI 5-a-side soccer tournament in Carrigaline. They have prepared well and we wish them the best of luck as they attempt to qualify for the Cork Finals in Turners Cross.
Reminder: Our Senior Choir, under their conductor Ms. Jean Atkins Maher, will participate in the Munster premier of the “Sing Out Loud” concert in the Cork Opera House on Wednesday 9th March at 7.30pm. This choir has been busily practising 3 times a week for their performance. We wish them the best of luck on Wednesday next.
