3rd Class School Tour
On Friday June 3rd, Rang III set off for our school tour in Farran Wood with Compass Club. Our day involved many fun and educational activities. The tour managed to incorporate different areas of the curriculum such as S.E.S.E., Art and P.E. We went on a scavenger hunt through the woods to see what plants and creatures we could find. Our guides were very knowledgeable about the woods. Some of us were lucky enough to see the beautiful deer that live in Farran Woods. They must have liked us because a number of the deer came over to the wire to say hello to us! We did some clay modelling and used what we could find around us to add features to these clay creatures. Some of us chose to bring our clay home, while others chose to find a home for their clay in the woods. Keep an eye out for these creations next time you’re in Farran Woods!! Other activities included rock climbing, taking a rope walk while blind-folded and shelter building. As well as this, we played some co-operative games which involved us working as a team. We enjoyed having our picnic in the lovely sunshine. The children of Rang III were well behaved on the day and their guides complimented them by saying they were very good listeners who were willing to take part in all of the activities. It was a very enjoyable tour and a great day was had by all.

Pupils in 3rd class also wrote a new version of the proclamation entitled "My 2016 Proclamation for Ireland", where pupils outlined their hopes for the Ireland of the future.
